Many people don’t understand why I would bring tech into the heart of places where people are trying to get away from it. But here I am, finding a small hole in the virgin forest canopy to find a way to connect to a geostationary satellite and bring the Internet, albeit momentarily, to a few square meters so I can be part of a game played around the globe – from sub-Saharan Africa to Antarctica.
Great visit to the Centre of North Island in Pureora Forest Park, with the exception of the 2 seconds of losing traction on an extremely muddy part of forest road. We saw and heard lots of Kaka and enjoyed the dense bush towered over by old Rimu and Kauri.
I am a rich man.
